Google pays Tribute to Peter Carl Faberge on his 166th birthday

Google Today pays Tribute to Peter Carl Faberge, the Russian jeweller, on his 166th birthday by displaying a colorful doodle on its homepage.

Faberge was born on May 30, 1946 in Saint Petersburg, Russia, to a Baltic German jeweller. He was known for his unique creation of Easter eggs by using glittering gemstones and precious metals. Therefore, Google also decorated its doodle with a set of six gold and precious metals which combines to make the 'Faberge Easter Eggs'.

Because of his exceptional work in the field of jewellery, he was awarded the title Master Goldsmith, which empowered him to use his own hallmark in his work.

The well known jeweller died on September 24, 1920.

Because I am absolutely terrible about following through with blog awards, I can't in good conscience accept any more. Thank you very much for thinking of me though!
